The new project is dedicated to those seeking the unexpected in travel and experiences. Chatsworth, the historic English estate, is unveiled as the first Gucci Place. Fascinated with British culture, from punks to English gardens, creative director Alessandro Michele cites ‘a British attitude’ in his work–and after shooting the Cruise 2017 campaign in  the House and grounds, identified Chatsworth as a natural partner for Gucci.

An exclusive selection of products from the Gucci Courrier collection will feature two special patches to celebrate the project. On the Gucci App, travelers can consult a dedicated guide to each Place.

One thing is very clear, luxury brands are hoping to expand into offering experiences for luxury travel destinations. With Louis Vuitton City Guide introducing their travel app exclusively to Apple’s App Store earlier.

Even Airbnb launched their own new services to host local experiences. Where leading digital sites like TopAtlantaLuxury.com and Thrillist Atlanta have been successful in offering solutions for local experiences by specific destination. Now many luxury brands are hoping to enter a niche space that successful digital sites already hold trustworthy influence.

“Will consumers trust luxury brands with offering experiences for local luxury travel destinations?”
