BMW, Volkswagen AG’s Audi AG and other luxury-car makers have added new models and boosted production in China as rising incomes spur sales of more expensive cars. The 1-Series may eventually go into production in China if imported ones sell well, China Business News said last month, citing the head of BMW’s local partner, Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd.
The 1-Series will compete with models including Ford Motor Co.’s Volvo C30. The 2.4-litre version of the C30 costs from 368,000 yuan. Full story, click here
