Vanessa and Angela Simmons will present Bush twins Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager with the Rising Star Empowerment Award benefiting Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F.) at the annual Dallas Rocks 2009: Diamond Dinner with cuisine by Wolfgang Puck.
The event is scheduled to be held on November 14, 2009 from 6:30 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. at the Dallas Historic Union Station. Dallas Rocks Diamond Dinner Tickets are now SOLD OUT!
Host of the event is founder Russell Simmons (uncle to Angela and Vanessa) and Anthony Anderson of Law and Order. In 2008 the Dallas Rocks gala raised $250,000.00 benefiting D.E.F. Simmons founded D.E.F. in 2007, along with other individuals in the diamond and jewelry industries and others who are committed to the empowerment of Africa. The organization helps to benefit CIDA (Community and Individual Development Association) and African Leadership Academy, which are both based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Simmons Jewelry Co.’s GREEN BRACELET is the symbol of the cause and has raised more than $650,000 for the fund to date.
