Okay for those of you who are still recovering from the shock of how many Twitter followers you may have loss on July 22, 2009. It was a really GOOD thing and you actually gained by the loss of followers who stopped following you.
Spammers who follow you on Twitter do not enforce the purpose to use Twitter as it is designed. As a result your followers who were spammers served you no real purpose. Twitter launched a plan to delete spammers from their database and you most likely noticed the results on July 22, 2009.
For luxury brands this improvement presents an excellent solution to target Twitter audiences. Now it is much easier to target a real luxury audience and connect with real luxury consumers over fake spammers.
