A refreshing perspective and reinterpreted take on “Classic Key West” can be found in each of the 400 sq ft guest rooms, in the form of clean, white furnishings, touches of dark woods and luxe cream draperies juxtaposed with modern elements. Muted, ceramic tile entryways exude a residential style feel and flow into wave and surf inspired carpeting.  Splashes of azure and turquoise hues accent the space and call to mind the crystal clear waters of the keys and the harbor that is just a few steps away.  A curious modern cat sculpture pays homage to the fabled “Hemingway Days” of Key West, while a carefully curated collection of art, books and thoughtful local amenities adorn book shelves. Unexpected and inspired design details can also be found in each guest bathroom where stark white subway tile line the walls alongside a modern soaking tub and shower, inviting one to unwind and relax after a day of sunning or sightseeing.  Each guestroom also boasts private porches offering unparalleled panoramic views of the lush tropical gardens or the sparkling Key West waterfront, perfect for watching a Key West sunset.

The Marker will offer four room categories to choose from, ranging between Marina, Pool, Garden and Old Town views, available in both standard king and double queen options.  Additional amenities include; complimentary WIFI, soaking tubs, on-site parking and a state-of-the-art fitness center, among others.

Luxury Tropical Oasis

The Marker is located at 200 William Street, in the heart of the Key West Historic Seaport.  This luxurious compound is close enough to the eclectic setting of Duval Street and lively attractions throughout Old Town without sacrificing its sense of refuge and retreat. An attentive and intuitive staff will complement each guests experience with exceptional service and unique offerings.  Guests of The Marker will have access to a special “Conchierge,” who will serve as a personal resource and insider guide to experiencing the best that the island has to offer; from eco-tours and watersports to lesser known spots coveted by locals.

The Marker Waterfront Resort arrives in Key West this October as a premier, independent, 96-room luxury hotel. This tropical oasis is centrally located on the edge of the Key West Historic Seaport, amid the best dining, attractions and sightseeing the destination has to offer.  The Marker “marks” the first new hotel build in Old Town Key West since 1994.  Inspired by the free spirit and colorful nature of the Key West community, the resort pays reverence to the region’s rich history while embracing a modern and timeless design that illustrates the essence of barefoot, tropical luxury.  As Key West’s newest luxury build, this locally inspired retreat resides on nearly two acres of waterfront land, built in the style of classic conch architecture.  In addition to The Marker’s 96 guest rooms, the property boasts; an eclectic dining concept (Cero Bodega,) lush tropical landscaping, multiple swimming pools and poolside cocktail service as well as on-site parking and breathtaking waterfront views.  Named in honor of the mile markers that lead to the southernmost point of the United States, The Marker is poised to be a new found symbol of hospitality and a beacon of luxury in the heart of Key West’s historic Old Town.

Developed in partnership with The Singh Company, a leading real estate and hospitality developer in the Florida Keys, The Marker features a fresh and contemporary interior design that also pays tribute to its location in Key West’s Historic Seaport. “The Marker tells the story of a modern day Key West with understated hints to ‘Old Florida Luxury,'” says Singh Company’s Ann Johnson, who spearheaded the property’s interior design. “The vision for The Marker was to create an authentic experience and strong sense of place that celebrates the Key West community and the hotel’s historic waterfront location,” adds Johnson.  Inspired by the island, she wove in subtle tropical finishes throughout, in the form of beautiful hard woods, caning, locally produced textiles, and some tongue-in-cheek references to an old sea captains home.

The Marker sets the stage for a grand sense of arrival beginning with beautifully landscaped grounds that emphasize the lush and tropical locale of Key West and the keys as an eco-oriented destination.  An oversized staircase leads guests into the lobby, the crown jewel of The Marker that stimulates the senses with vivid artwork and luxurious patterns, set against a palate of grays, gold, chartreuse and cream tones.  Towering glass windows, crisply painted paneled walls and lush greenery line the lobby in an effort bring the outside in and allow the nature of Key West to speak an aesthetic soliloquy to guests from the moment they check in.
