When Arista gave Whitney Houston a whopping $100 million dollar contract to deliver six new albums that of course would also include royalties (this is Whitney you know) we knew her come back would be a big thing. However, the timing release of her album will prove to be the biggest score for her celebrity brand.
The buzz around Whitney proves she is still the Pop Diva of the World. This is Whitney’s first album in seven years which she still remains one of the world’s best-selling female artists. After all she has only sold 190 million albums and 50 million singles worldwide!
Whitney makes R&B and pop music harmonize. The new album titled “I Look To You” was premiered with a single release that started all the media buzz. Fans remember how powerful her voice is and why we all fell in love with her.
According to SonyInsider.com, The album will be a mixture of big ’sweeping ballads’ and R&B/Pop dance music. The roster of producers and writers includes John Legend, Swizz Beatz, Sean Garrett, Alicia Keys, David Foster, R Kelly, Harvey Mason, Jr., Diane Warren and Akon who is the only guest vocalist on the album. The song “Million Dollar Bill” is expected to be the first single due to its growing popularity, but “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” or “Call You Tonight” are also possible contenders.
The album will be released first in Germany by Sony Music on August 28 before being release in the UK on August 31 by RCA Records and finally worldwide on September 1 by long-term record label Arista with distribution from Sony Music.
