Only just when we thought that we had seen it all when it came to new collections. Next up comes Bottega Veneta men’s wear fall winter 2011 / 2012 collection. Releasing the announcement from the fashion central of New York, NY Bottega Veneta is doing something a lot different by adding urban luxury appeal to their new collection.
Bottega Veneta wants to focus on how the way an object is made affects its look, feel, and function. They are remaking traditional men’s wear items like the jacket, the smoking, and the sweater in more uncommon ways. For instance mixing materials and methods of construction which allows for an exploration of their range and relevance.
Critics refer to Bottega Veneta’s collection remake as taut and urban, with an austere, streamlined sensibility.
Back in February of 2001 Bottega Veneta was acquired by Gucci Group. Tomas Maier was assigned as Creative Director in June of 2001 and presented his first collection under the label with a fresh new identity. Could Bottega Veneta be the men’s wear collection to watch for Fall Winter 2011/2012?
Wonder will this new collection concept that embraces the way an object is made to affect look, feel, and function will attract luxury consumers? The concept of adding urban luxury concepts to luxury brand campaigns is vastly growing. One thing for sure Bottega Veneta got our attention.
That is what most luxury brands want to do when they release a new collection, right? Can’t you just wait to touch this collection? Some how I feel that men will buy this collection because they know that women will want to touch it.
