You have to give it to Dateline, what better way to lead a media pitch to people suffering from inflation, gas prices, foreclosure rates, job loss and economic downturn conditions. Hey, you tell them that they might be rich? That’s great news to hear during economy woes.
Dateline made a discovery that an estimated $30 billion+ of unclaimed property is sitting in state treasuries waiting to be returned to millions of Americans. Why? Well, State officials often don’t have the resources to find everybody! ALL that money just remains at the state treasury waiting and waiting. The story had some really feel good moments when Dateline went out and found everyday people who did NOT know they had money coming. Dateline even caught up with some celebrities who had money coming!
