The word is out and luxury retailers are shortening luxury inventory purposely. The plan is to make luxury consumers want luxury through exclusivity from not having access to it. Tables are turning, luxury consumers stopped buying luxury first and in efforts to win them back luxury retailers started discounting inventory with easy access.
Luxury stores are starting trim inventory and discounts. Which I said from day one, SALE is a bad four letter word for luxury. The perception of luxury is what luxury brands will need to focus on and how to connect with luxury consumers.
