Anything new and exciting usually turns into something big and hot in fashion. This time around fashion takes on a new trend inspired by a Presidential candidate? Yes, I am talking about Presidential candidate Barack Obama!

According to Vogue’s editor Franca Sozzani and photographer Steven Meisel during an interview with The New York Times, Vogue’s all-black issue was inspired by Barack Obama’s campaign and the lack of diversity on the runways. Revealing that Meisel; has been frustrated by the industry’s rejection of black models for quite some time.
He says, “I thought, it’s ridiculous, this discrimination,” from his home in Los Angeles and speaking by phone. “It’s so crazy to live in such a narrow, narrow place. Age, weight, sexuality, race — every kind of prejudice,” said Meisel.
Once the Italian Vogue’s “All Black” Issue hit the U.S. stands they were SOLD Out! The issue consists of 100 pages. We found two good sneak peak previews on the web, The New York Times and Jezebel.
One thing for certain, Obama is HOT for Vogue!
