The SS United States future is about to sink and could be sent to the nearest scrap yard. While it was once held as the fasted luxury liner in the world it may be turned into scrap.
For the past 14 years the SS United States has simply been sitting and sailing nowhere. The history of the luxury liner include its maiden voyage in 1952, the SS United States set a trans-Atlantic speed record — New York to Bishop Rock, England, in three days, 10 hours, and 40 minutes — eclipsing by 10 hours the mark set by the Queen Mary in 1938.
Should such a historic luxury liner be sent to a scrap yard or saved?
