Sonoma Media Investments recently named Karen Orlando as their new marketing and public relations manager for the company’s media properties. Orlando brings more than 15 years of experience in marketing, public relations, digital media and business development. This type of hiring shows a shift in companies wanting experienced business minded executives to oversee key positions. Orlando is also the founder of KOPR, a Beverly Hills financial public relations firm for startup and small-cap companies, and In-Sight Media, a Los Angeles marketing firm that specialized in social media, sales and marketing strategies.

Orlando further specialized in selling luxury properties working with Sotheby’s International in west Los Angeles. She was even a senior mortgage broker with First Financial Mortgage. A luxury real estate rock star Orlando served as marketing director at Varenna and then director of corporate communications for Oakmont Senior Living, a Windsor company that develops senior living communities.
Sonoma Media Investments does own The Press Democrat, Petaluma Argus-Courier, The Sonoma Index-Tribune, The North Bay Business Journal and Sonoma magazine. Orlando will be responsible for the branding and marketing of Sonoma Media Investments products as well as the company’s charitable outreach efforts, including overseeing the Celebrate Community Partnership.
