The Queen of media A.K.A Oprah Winfrey, one of the most respected counselor’s to the world finally spoke out on the Rihanna and Chris Brown subject matter. Oprah, being Oprah addressed Rihanna and Chris as if she could be a friend.
According to People, Winfrey stated “Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I was your friend, I would call you up and I would say, ‘Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself,’ ” Winfrey said during a live, roundtable discussion Friday on her talk show. “Heal yourself first.”
Oprah holds nothing back about how she feels about domestic violence, stating, “And also, love doesn’t hurt. I’ve been saying this to women for years: ‘If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.”
Oprah is not just speaking out but she also intends to take action against domestic violence. Winfrey expressed that she will be dedicating an upcoming episode on the topic of domestic violence. Now, even more moving to me is that Winfrey gave stats on just how many women are victims of domestic violence, citing that one out of four women in this country are battered.
Oprah’s message is one of the most high profile PR statements ever made to help stop domestic violence, a real call to action. There is a PR campaign called “Justice for Lynn” and Oprah’s domestic violence awareness could possibly help young girls get out of abusive relationships. Jeffery Lynn Smith has not been seen since 1985 and her family deeply believes that she was a victim of domestic violence, the reason why she never returned home from school after being last seen with her boyfriend.
Oprah’s message to bring awareness to domestic violence could actually help to save lives. This is one PR hot topic that I fully support.

I will tell all my collegues about this groovy little blog just because I like it a lot. In my opinion I think it’s quite unique & just a small bit quirky, which to my mind is refreshing. I’m going to make it it as a favorite. Why can’t all blogs be like this one?
