Sen. Barack Obama according to the Associated Press interrupted his weeklong family getaway to pocket $1.3 million for his campaign to a sold-out fundraiser Tuesday. The event was held at the Kahala Hotel & Resort, which 500 people donated at least $2,300 per piece to his presidential campaign to hear him speak.

To set the mood a photo collage of Obama’s youth in Hawaii was posted at the entrance, pointing out some of the most recognized media photos of his jump shot on the high school basketball team and teenage hairdo.

Those who donated $10,000 or more were allowed to mingle and pose for pictures with Barack and Michelle Obama in the VIP area. The Obama’s fashion statement was laid back, he wore a short-sleeve shirt and she appeared in a sun dress.
