The research by Anat Keinan, an assistant professor at Harvard Business School, and Ran Kivetz, a professor of marketing at Columbia Business School, polled various groups on whether denying themselves instant gratification from making purchases of various luxury goods contributed to a sense of well-being or regret over time.
