It looks like Sen. John McCain’s campaign is not at all happy with the coverage that NBC News gives to media darling Sen. Barack Obama.
According to Politico, McCain’s campaign is citing that the network is “abandoning non-partisan coverage of the presidential race.”

McCain feels that he needs more news publicity which is critical and this aggressive effort is a request to make that happen. The campaign is also objecting to a statement by NBC’s Andrea Mitchell on “Meet the Press” questioning whether McCain might have gotten a heads-up on some of the questions that were asked of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who was the first candidate to be interviewed Saturday night by Pastor Rick Warren at a presidential forum on faith.

A demand letter was sent to Steve Capus, President of NBC News from Rick Davis, Campaign Manager for John McCain requesting equal media coverage with that of Barack Obama.

Should McCain consider his own PR campaign first and how he can improve on his publicity coverage to become more newsworthy. I don’t think just because you are running for President should make you newsworthy. McCain needs to focus on planning a better PR campaign to help his Presidential run.
